I have a large male betta fish. He is very docile, and when I take out his tank mates he gets a little depressed believe it or not. So I was wondering if there were any good permanent suggestions - something that is not super active, too small, or dirty.
I've had a snail with him who he never paid attention to (it died), a silver molly who was getting abused in his community tank (rehomed because he nipped betta's fins) and (I know it's a huge no) a comet and butterfly goldfish. Both of them were also rehomed for different reasons. The comet got aggressive and the butterfly did not like being kept with just the betta so I gave him to a friend who has a fantail and betta.
