I got him in the mail today. He came off aquabid from thailand and is a HMPK. However, he is very lethargic and has a white patch on his upper lip. I read the disease sticky and I believe it is columnaris. I have Maracyn I & II, AQ salt, and ES salt. First two pictures taken with flash, third without. Patch is visible in first two pics.

It looks like it might be his natural color. If it was columnaris he would have other symptom's other than just being lethargic. If you just got him today give it another day or two and monitor his behavior before treating with meds. He could just be lethargic because he was shipped from Thailand. I would however strongly recommend getting a filter and a heater for this tank. Warmer water about 80-82 degrees will help bring him around.

Thankyou. I have a heater, the weather is in the 90's and we don't have AC, so I am not using it.

Is the patch fuzzy? If not, its most likely his coloring.
Keep an eye on it though, just in case.
He needs time to settle in, and should perk up in a few days. being shipped 1/2 way around the world is probably pretty stressful for him and there might be water chemistry diffrences between your water and thailand water that he needs to get adjusted too

Filter is optional but a heater is required. I unplugged mine too, its WAY to hot and their water is almost 90 without a heater on >.<

Yes I agree it looks like part of his color. My Betta has light blue lips alot lighter blue than the rest of him. Maybe he is just stressed out from his trip. I would just keep and close eye on him and keep things quite and dim light for a couple of days. Good luck and he is awesome !

Sorry, I'm sort of paranoid. Anyways, he's acting fine. His water got cloudy suddenly(overnight) so I did a 50% change and added a terra-cotta pot. The water was better but is just as cloudy now as it was before the change. Since his water has gotten cloudy the only behavioral change has been that he won't react to the mirror now. I just want to make sure everything is ok. Thanks.
