and also to buy one(you could probably get it for free)just to give it a nice clean death and give the other fish better chances of being bought

I really did almost buy one. My husband has threatened me, though, if I bring home another. I honestly think that all of the female king bettas there will die there. They are not nicely colored with all the stress and all.

I wrote a very lengthy letter with pictures and sent it off to them. We'll see if I get a reply. I hope so, because I'd like the chance to give them an earful in person.

I hope you have sme luck with them. Sad seeing fish like that and makes it scary to buy for some people. :(

I couldn't even see the fish in there! I've always hated walmart for some reason. It looks to white. And shiny. This is just another reason to add to my long long list.

What I would like to see is a 'Million Betta March' - photos from ALL the Walmarts across the USA, all the dead/dying/diseased/ disgustingly kept fish collected en masse on a website and the link to that mailed to a TV news department or six. And PETA. And the RSPCA.

Because that company is evil. To me, that level of uncaring for living things is evil. And I am not religiously inclined.

Well. All it takes is one person with a website or forum to get it started..

It won't be me (I'm not American and have done my hard yards of protesting over the years, lol). But I'd love to see someone from here get something like that rolling. I mean, how many people have complained to -individual- stores.. but this could hit the company as a whole.

Which means Walmart MIGHT decide not to stock bettas any more.

I would not think of that as any kind of shame.

You will all be happy to know that while I did not receive a personal reply, the betta fish all had sparkling clean water today when we stopped in to visit. The three remaining females in the pics I showed you looked much happier.
