Starting to breed again: Need a project

I successfully bred a line of red/black dragons for a while but then school got in the way and I haven't had money to breed.
But soon I will have enough money and I need some ideas on what to breed. I like a challenge.
This will be half a blog and half a discussion of what I end up doing.
I've started to set up outside to see if I can start getting some mosquito larvae.

What's a good challenge?
I'm thinking of breeding pet store betta's and seeing if I can get a good line going from them. I have a couple HM's of my own that I could also throw in but they are my babies and I would hate to have anything happen to them.

You're in Lakewood? I'm in Aurora. I have some HMPKs. Platinum whites and metallic multi colors. I currently have two pairs in the tubs right now.

I've been losing quite a few fish over the past few months. Currently all but four of my fish are being taken care of in the Springs by another breeder. I'm setting up my barracks right now :)

That's me!

Awesome to see yet another CO breeder pop up. How challenging are you wanting, exactly?

Honestly, I'm looking to really dig deep into the genetics of it all. So challenging in that aspect. I've always been very science and math oriented so I would enjoy that challenge.
Space and money like always are limited but I do have a fair bit of room.

I've been plotting my course for starting a true blue dragon line at some point (not any time soon), that's certainly a challenge and no one has been able to do it *without* using the sporadic marble gene base. Interested?

I think it would be good to have the CO breeders work on it. Plenty of outcrosses readily available.

I read your thread on trying to get the blue dragon line. While it does sound interesting(and no offense to you), I want to try and get a good project going myself. I think I just want to set a goal for myself and be able to accomplish it. Also, I always worry that I'd let somebody down.
I do love dragons though.
