NEW TANK :) Finally

Hi everyone,

So I've decided to get my Betta a new tank so he can stretch his fins. This is what I'm getting http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...uctId=11459461
I've read some reviews and I found this one has the highest rates.

SO, THIS IS MY FIRST FISH AND FIRST TANK. So what do I need to do the cycle the tank? I read the post about cycling the tank but it doesn't explain steps by steps and which method is the best one to use?

Can anyone please walk me through what to do with my new tank so my betta can be happy ?

He's my birthday present from my boyfriend so I want to keep him as happy as possible!

You can find a 10 galon glass aquarium kit in-store at Walmart for around $40.
I would advise you to decide if you want glass or acrylic and go from there.
I ended up taking down all my acrylic tanks after a year because they scratched by just looking at them.
If you do decide for acrylic, Walmart also has a 5galon Hawkeye for $25 http://www.walmart.com/ip/Hawkeye-5-...-Pets/14660258
It has really good reviews too and you can use the extra money to get a good heater :)

I have the Walmart five gallon starter kit. The tank is great, you have to baffle the filter, though. And also add a heater.

Hiya... I actually had this tank but I had to take exchange it for a different tank a day later. I really like the look of it and my set up was very pretty but I have a cat who likes to investigate my tanks and try to steal the water. The top of this tank is a little flimsy and I was afraid my cat would fall right through it. I just didn't feel like the top of the tank, and not just the top cover but the whole top of it was sturdy enough. Just my two cents.

It is a great tank. I have one, my mom and dad each have one and my brother has one too. The bettas seem to really enjoy swimming around the tank. And the color changing LED light is really cool, there is actually around 10 different settings on it.

Hi guys! I dont have a Walmart that carry pet stuff around me. All I have is petco and pet smart. I probably going with acrylic bc I'm in college and moving around a lot because I have to bring him on breaks. Glass will be heavy ;-(

Look into the 6.6 setup..I was going to buy it..it's shallow and long, great for a betta. Also has an adjustable filter.

I'm consider buying this tank now :) Since the reviews are really good and It's pretty cheap too ! But I don't know how well the filter works though and I don't know if it's going to be too strong for betta
