qustions on my new tank setup

i decided to redo my tank today, i dident like the sand i had put in it.. it was a cheap sand with nothing in it and was super lite. i went to a pet store called petworks and bought a 20lb bag of CaribSea tropical aquarium sand. we got it all set up. the fish are in separate 1 gallon tanks. and the plants are in cups of water outside for natural sun light.

i know i need to wait atleast a week to put the fish in the tank so it can get all set up. but my question was, do i need to wait a while to add the plants into the tank or can i do that right now? and if i do need to wait how long?

thanx, i just got them in this morning... im hoping with this new sand they start to grow i had them in the other tank for a week and they dident show any change at all..

Without fish in the tank though I would get fertilizer or plant food..no fish no waste for the plants to feed on.

the sand i got was realy high quality with bacteria in it thats good for plants and fish, also with water conditioner as well

Very nice, once my tank cycles I may replace the gravel with Eco Complete.

that was another sand i was looking at but what they had at my petstore for eco compleat was more of a gravel and i love the look of sand myself

I hear you can break it up with your hands and it turns out pretty fine. I haven't seen the stuff in person though so maybe.

I just redid my 10 gallon divided with the Carib Sea sand....even researched about sand. Found out that it either needs to be poked or stirred, periodically, to make sure gases don't build up in it. Just passing along the info.

yeah i was aware of that, u should do that with any fine sand. the stuff i had b4 was horrible for that because it was so lite that when u poke it the sand comes to the top, and if gas did build up i assume it would lift the sand up
