Exclamation Vacation Feeding... URGENT.

I will be gone for a week, as some people already know...

I know a betta can survive that long w/o food, but mine will bite his tail from hunger or boredom easily! I don't want a tail biting relapse!

What do YOU guys think is the best option?

P.S.
I don't know anyone else who can take care of him... Automatic feeders or what?

ALSO --- What if I'm gone for TWO weeks? Sometimes my vacations are longer... ahhh.

xoxo

1-2 weeks is fine without food. Calypso, what brand of weekend feeders do you use and do you use them for periods longer than a week or so? I've only heard bad things about weekend feeders, but I'd be interested in hearing from someone who has had good experiences with them.

Please, no feeders. They tend to just, overfeed. End of story :( What size is your tank? And are you able to get more decorations?

I will have to look and see what they are called when I get home. I have never used them for longer then 4-5 days myself and as soon as I gt home I immediately clean his tank before I do any thing else. I have been doing these for a few years now and have never had any problems myself.

I lost one of mine while I was gone for a week, and another has no tail left.

I think if I go, I will try the slow decomposer 7-day feeding food.

I use the 7 day betta blocks you can buy at just about any pet store and they seem to work great. (at least they did the two times I left) Try that.

Most fish have no idea that those feeding blocks mean food. They usually just sit and decompose in the tank, dirtying the tank. No one can feed him?

Weekend feeders = bad.

Just leave your fish without food for a week. They're not mammals. They do not need to eat as often.
