Autism and fish keeping.

I have been living with autism all my life and fish keeping has helped it a lot. Apparently since I am autistic I should "get my illness under control" before even thinking of breeding betta's at all. That's ignorance right there. Sorry for the rant, but I had to get that off my chest.

*sigh*

I never implied that you were out of control. NEVER. Your taking the words I said and misconstruing them.

Your implying that I said your out of control, which I clearly DID NOT say. I don't appreciate you misconstruing my words like that. Its very hurtful.

I feel that your ranting about something you misconstrued me as saying, and then making a big deal out of it on these forums to make me look like a fool was selfish and immature of you.

Maybe next time you feel angry or mad at someone, writing publicly about them, especially right where you're sure they can see it, isn't the best idea. Try journaling about it privately instead.

.... must we have a whole new thread for this argument?

There's a PM function..

I do think a thread to discuss autism and fish keeping is a great idea. But not if it's created to solely to continue an argument over from its original thread...

Thanks Aus, but I think I am done talking to her for now. I need a little cooling off time. Anger management issues, you understand.

Shaina there's no reason to be angry, things will be said all the time and some are bound to be hurtful whether intended or not. It's how we react to them that defines who we are.

That said autism is very complicated and judging ones intelligence solely on this is foolish, intelligence is nearly impossible to define as it is. What you call an illness I call a chance to be extraordinary, to stand in defiance to what has been placed upon you.

Now I can agree with you that keeping fish is therapeutic, my ocd flares up now and then and having something constructive to do helps me relax and focus until it passes, not to mention the benefit on my anxiety.

I know nothing on breeding bettas so I won't comment on that but if you do go for it. :)
