I've been in possession of a "baby betta" for about a month more or less... I think. I'm terrible
at keeping track of time though so for all I know it could be two months. Wondering if any of
you more knowledgeable people out there could help me determine his/her age and possible
fin type for the future.

Also is there any help in determining his color type if there's a name for it and whether or not
he's a dumbo or if those fins will be something he grows into.

Excuse the blurriness. I don't have too good a camera but those pictures are pretty true
to color. He's kind of pinkish purple with white edges to his fins.

I'd say he's definitely a dumbo! Salamander BF would be his color I'm presume as well. Quite the change your boy made! He's a cutie!

Aw thanks. I've always thought he was the cutest of my fish. That's probably because I've had since he was a cute little baby though, hehe. Does the BF there stand for butterfly because that sounds so wonderful, lol.

Guys think he's a plakat or a veil? I've heard a lot of people say that the petco baby bettas are mostly female veils.

Definitely male plakat. :) Possibly halfmoon but I'd have to wait for the fins to get bigger, and then get a good flaring pic to confirm! But he is gorgeoussss, what an adorable little guy.

Yaaaay another plakat! I'll definitely wait for his fins to get a bit longer, maybe in about a month or so I'll come back and take more pics of him and then show you guys and see what the consensus is then. I've been thinking he was a plakat as well. He's sure feisty as most of them I've seeen so far. He also has made a habit of flaring at my finger it's too cute.
