New Betta Aquarium Questions

Today I bought my first Betta fish, with a ten gallon tank. There's a heater but no filter.

Since there is only one betta in the tank, is it necessary to cycle the tank? I've read that, no I don't so long as I do frequent water changes, but it's always better to be safe than sorry. Especially with my new friend! :)

I appreciate any help.

You don't have to cycle. But, do a 100% and a 50% change per week :)

A 10g and a heater. You're off to a good start. Do you have water conditioner to take the chlorine out of your tapwater?

A couple of 50% water changes per week will be fine. But, if you get a liquid test kit, you'll be able to keep a better eye on your water.

When you get used to taking care of your fish, come back here and we'll help you get your tank cycled.
