Planting Kidney beans in a betta tank?

Currently cycling a tank for my basement and I thought of doing this, thoughts? Ideas? they can grow in highly oxygenated water, so why not?

You risk them rotting in the water.
Why woul dyou want to plant kidney neans... I'm confused O.o

I'd try in a vase first (no fish), once it sprouts maybe transfer it.
