Hot Peppers & Betta = death/blindness?

I am lucky that I have boxes and boxes of gloves. I use gloves when I handle fish, take out trash, etc. I still wash my hand good after take off gloves. I feel at least with the gloves is more clean and do not have to double wash my hands.

When I use disposable gloves, once I'm DONE with them... they're torn up & in pieces. I may start up using gloves in the kitchen, but then I end up in the yard, etc.... Those disposables aren't meant for heavy tasks like that, but it keeps my hand cleaner than if I didn't use them at all.

Zergy, how much do you buy ghost peppers for? I always buy produce/meat by the pound, that way I can always tell if I'm getting a good deal or not.

I had to slice the jalapenos to flatten them out, otherwise my pressed sandwiches wouldn't have heated all the way through.

So no one in here, has ever kept a betta in the kitchen and accidentally dropped a sliced hot pepper in their tank?

They can get very expensive, it really depends where you're getting it. I head to California every few years and I stock pile some peppers where they are cheaper than if I found some here in Iowa. I think a 1/4lb of Ghost pepper can run your $15-$18. You can also find ghost pepper sauces for about $14 for a 5oz bottle. I use the bottle stuff more because of how accessible it is.

Ghost peppers are still considered a novelty. A good thing to prank your friend/ex with, but most people won't dare go near them, myself included. Thai chilis & habanero peppers are painful enough.
