So yesterday I finally went and bought myself a betta! I HAD been intending to set up my main tank as a sorority, but I've been having misgivings about the whole sorority tank thing, even though I'd really like one. (It just seems like it could go wrong so easily!) There were only 2 bettas at my LFS anyway, so I decided to just get one for my 6 gallon tank and leave the main tank as it is. (the main tank actually looks very sparse and boring atm - only 8 small shoaling fish, and I had to take all the elodea out because it was dying)
I chose the smaller and (in my opinion) more miserable-looking of the two bettas - the edges of her fins were a bit ragged (not from finrot though).
she looked like she might have more interesting coloring than the other girl, who was quite plain without any irridescence (both were grey and stripy from stress). turns out I was right!
I'm assuming she would just be categorised as 'multi-coloured', but if anyone can think of a more specific color variety please tell me!
I've named her Jewel.
