Help!

Based in UK. My betta has some sort of fungal infection and finrot, probably due to having to change tanks in a hurry, as old tank was leaking. Been doing regular water changes and adding aquarium salt. Was using King British finrot and fingus control, but this seemed to make him lethargic, since I've stopped he's been more active. Any other advice would be appreciated.

How has your betta fish's appearance changed?
How has your betta fish's behavior changed?

Have you started treating your fish? If so, how?

Tank is 13 UK gallons
temp is 27c/80f
Tank is filtered, with small sponge filter. Betta lives with 1 zebra snail and 5 amano shrimp. He's fed tetra betta flakes once a day and occassionally dried bloodworms.

Water changes done weekly,approx 2/3, using tetra aquasafe. Ammonia level is 0ppm so is nitrite level.

He has suffered from finrot in the past but has recently developed white patches on his back and around gills, as in pictures above. I did treat him with king british anti finrot and fungus but this lead to him becoming lethargic, resting on bottom of tank etc. Discontinued that treatment and after a water change added aquarium salt to the tank.

would say he definately needs a fungal treatment of some sort. Is there a different brand you can get? Maybe its just something in that specific brand. I'm sorry I'm not more help in that subject. My basic cure for fin rot is Stress Coat, aq salt and Indian Almond Leaf.

If you can't get indian almond leaf, oak leaves are good to use in their place.

Thanks for the advice. Trying him with some myxazin and managed to get some indian almond leaves. It's early days but he seems a bit more active.
