Fish Treats

How often should I feed my fish treats? What kind of treats should I give? Should I not feed her as much regular food if I do give her treats? (She gets 3 pellets twice a day)

Also, where can you get a feeding stick?

you dont give your fish treats you feed them their 3-4 pellets a day and that is it or else you will over feed them and they will die

You can give bloodworms as a treat every once in a while. Feed 1-2 bloodworms per feeding.
Keep in mind, bloodworms are like chocolate to betta fish, they have almost no nutritional value and need to be fed in moderation.

I dont recommend feeding sticks, they release many chemicals into the water and create ammonia. It can also overfeed your fish.

You should be feeding your betta 4 pellets a day, 2 in the morning, 2 at night (frequent feedings are best). You should be fasting (not feeding) your betta one day per week. When you want to feed bloodworms as a treat(recommended only every 2 weeks), you DO NOT feed pellets,just the 1-2 bloodworms, otherwise you would overfeed your fish, causing it to bloat, produce excess ammonia, and even death.

As for the feeding stick, I don't mean the kind that you give over vacation. I mean the kind you use to hold pellets and guide the food to them.

The maximum amount of pellets you can give is 6 if they're micro sized. You could give them bloodworms, mosquito larvae, gnats, etc. Feed treats 1-3 days a week. Do you mean the feeding stick for fish? You can only get that at an online store with the kit. I'm not sure if it's also solo, though... ;/

Oh ROFL i am sorry! I just use tweezers, but then again, thats just me. I think you can buy them online, but they are reffered to as "feeding wands". Also, i f you buy this kit online that teaches your fish to swim through hoops, play soccer(yes i said play soccer XD) you get one included i the kit.

Thank you guys so much! :) Tweezers...what a great idea! (I've already trained my Einstein to swim through her log...sort of. She doesn't ALWAYS do it, but when she does, it's when I ask her to!)
