poor guy :(

i was at petsmart today and saw this guy floating at the top of his cup on his side. turns out he wasnt dead and i took him home. hes currently in a 1/2 gal kritter keeper with what i suspect is SBD and fin rot because he was labeled as a half moon but literally has no tail at all.

If he makes it, he looks like he'll be really pretty. Hope he pulls through!

How noble of you to take a guy like him home, warms my heart to know there are good people out there not always looking for the most beautiful Betta. Good luck with this little diamond in the rough, looking forward to your pictures when he is feeling better.

I just got a new betta that has SBD too - I used Epsom salt but I saw conflicting advice on whether or not using cooked shelled peas was ok for this. What is the deal? Good or bad, and why?

Betta's digestive tracts weren't made for food like peas, so it clears their system and emptyies their stomachs.

It has also been known to ruin their digestive system and sometimes shorten lifespan or kill them.

I'm definitely on the no side.
