Marimo moss ball care?

hey guys so ive never really had live plants but i just picked up one for my betta.... anything i should know as to how to keep it alive haha?

Pretty easy for a plant. Quarantine in tap water. Needs low-high amounts of light. That's pretty much it. ;)

i just kinda rinsed it in the tap water and threw it in my tank :o

Just in case if there's any nasties in it. Remember to flip it every week so the bottom won't get brown.

It's also a good idea to rinse it out in some clean, treated water when you do water changes. It gets stinky if you don't.

I didn't rinse mine out for two weeks, and when I did it smelled like fart.

Yeah I let mine soak in tap water for a few days before adding them to the tank and changed the water every other day and the water was dirty and a little green looking the first couple of days, I would give them a little squeeze and roll them around in my had to get the nice round shape. Mine have done very well with just and over heard light they are staying very green.

Mine is doing well with practically no light. My room is on the side of the building that doesn't get any sun, so it just gets whatever filters in. It's a nice dark green.
