epsom salt will not work for the treatment. epsom salt leaches excess liquids and acts as a laxative.

aquarium salt if what takes care of external issues like fin rot and fungus.

just change 100% of the water tonight and start with either medication of aquarium salt tomorrow when you get it.

Jungle Fungus cure is a good one. I believe API Erythromyacin might or API Triple Sulfa, but look into those last two as those might be bacterial instead of fungal.

So I got API Fungus Cure in liquid form. I put the recommended dose in. It's been almost 24 hours and I don't see a difference, but I just checked on him and a clump of his fin fell off where there was a "cottony growth"! Is this normal?

its only been 24 hours, he probably wont show signs of great improvement until 72+ hours. The part of the fin falling away could just be a natural response to try to get rid of whats infected. I can't imagine the fins being too healthy under the fungus. I wouldn't quite worry yet.

Now all of the fungus infected parts of his fin have fallen off. I'm hoping this is a good sign. He's been acting okay and is still eating as well.

Will they grow back quickly? He still has 2 more days left of treatment with the fungus cure. I'm thinking about treating with aquarium salt for a week after the treatment just to be on the safe side. I'm worried it will come back.
