Bad luck or no luck..

Ok...

So a couple weeks ago I noticed a minor case of Fin Rot just starting on one of my bettas. I took care of him right away and treated him and he got better and started healing.

So, last night I looked at my other betta after feeding him and noticed he has a rip right in the middle of his back fin. He is a veil tail and it was horrible to see that.

I did the pantyhose test before I put the plants and decorations in, and it has been the same decorations in with him for months.

Im not sure what he ripped it on, but it seems like a freak accident to me.

Now, how do I treat a split fin? Water changes to keep the water pristine? or do I have to use Aquarium Salt or something else?

and its a split right from almost the body, all the way to the end, split right though.

Try just very clean water. If you see rot, do Aq salt. He's probably blown the fin flaring, and it very well might just seal up again.
