Minimum tank size in care guides....

Every once in a while I will look at a few care guides for bettas online, just for kicks, and there is always such a full spectrum of what is considered correct betta care....in particular minimum tank size...Some guides say 1 gallon minimum, some say 10 gallon minimum....10gal MINIMUM? for ONE BETTA? REALLY?! idk, that sounds pretty ridiculous to me....what do you think? And what do you really experienced betta keepers know?

I think minimum can be a 1 gallon but I'd much prefer to say 2-3 gallon.

I also think we should adopt the UK's law for not selling any fish tank under a gallon. It's considered animal cruelty and can be punished by law.

Yeah...UNDER a gallon, even for a betta, is ridiculous...a fish has to at least swim a little bit...

I love going into stores and acting like employees helping people. I've helped so many people looking for fishies and tanks, even in the non betta section I help people. I really should just apply there and see what good I can do lol

lol yeah. You might just save a few animals' lives.

I like to tell people that 2.5 gallons is a healthy minimum. Just do water maintenance twice a week if it's under 5 gal...
