Hi all, I've been reading this forum for about two months now. I love all the useful information and recently decided to stop "lurking" and say hello. I currently have one betta named Gandalf that I got from PETCO in April. That's him in my avatar

Thanks for the welcome! Yes they are addicrive! I had one years ago and recently was able to get Gandalf. I'm already wanting another betta but have been restraining myself lol. I won't get another betta until I can get another tank that's at least 5 gallons or above. I'd like to have another tank just like Gandalf's tank, which is the "bookshelf" tank that's long and shallow and 6.6 gallons.

Lucky!! Mine is only 3.5 gallons. >:( I'm going to upgrade, though. I wish I had another Betta. That makes all of us! :)

Welcome to the forum, Greylady!! We are all a little obsessed with our bettas here xD I sure am addicted myself! It really is a fabulous hobby, though; bettas are so fun-loving and sweet!

Yes LebronTheBetta my avatar is a pic of Gandalf. Isn't he beautiful!

As for him being a doubletail...that's what it said on his cup when I bought him at petco, however I thought it was labeled wrong, or possibly someone mixed up the lids (the label stating he was a doubletail was on the lid of the cup). I looked at a lot of pics online of double tails to try to figure it out and all the pic I saw, the betta's tail had a definate split and looked like two tails or at the very least had an indent. Gandalfs tail is all one tail and is smooth all along the edge with no indent or split at all. So I'm not 100% sure if he's a doulble tail or not. From all the pics I've looked up on the web I tend to think of him as a delta tail but I could be wrong. Maybe someone else can tell me what he is? Whatever he is... I think he's perfect!
