Noted. I will keep doing 50% water changes daily. How often should I do a 100% change? And I want a bigger tank but that will be down the road. I just want to learn everything first and become more experienced with fish and tanks. Figured I'd start off small. One day i want a huge community tank.

if you do 50% water changes every day then at least once a week do a 100%. Once he starts getting better you can do a 50% and 100% water change every other day rotating the percentage.

okay will do. But I should do about 3-100% water changes a week when he is better? That sounds like a lot... (I am new to the fish keeping scene though)

for a 1.5 gallon the ammonia will build up fast. The 50% 100% every other day will keep the ammonia down. You could upgrade to a 2-5 gallon and do a 50% and 100% water change once a week. Or go up to a 10 gallon and do a 20-50% water change once every week, week and a half. But these are just numbers for a tank with one betta. You start throwing in other fishes or snails in there the ammonia builds up faster.
