Black Bettas

Is it true that Black Bettas have a shorter life span than other colors?

I don't see why that'd be true o.O

Every betta lives its life based on food/living situations/diseases/etc.

That is what I thought, I was just told that they don't live as long but this is the first I have heard of it.

Perhaps it's that their color makes it harder to see and treat their ailments, if they have any.

Thanks for the replies, I will ask Mr. V

On another question. The black bettas that have purple/blue or gold in their tail is this a fault or normal?

I know they call some black orchid but just curious as to weather its normal or not.

Seems pretty normal. It may have been passed down from the parents which had that colour.
