Exclamation Fat Bettas?

Hey guys!
I have two males who I've had for about two weeks. I was looking in on them today, and noticed that they have grown a bit of a belly. I'm worried that I've let them overeat, or worse that they are sick Can anyone give me advice on how to help my poor guys. Thanks.

How much do you feed and how often. Bloating is a serious issue

Just regulate their portions, and try not to be too tempted to feed them a few extras! I know it can be difficult sometimes :) Also, you may wish to fast them for one day a week. It regulates their digestive systems and gives them a rest. What are you feeding them?

I feed them once a day 9 pellets... I just counted out the pinches of food that I've given them oh my... that just sounds like a lot when I think about it now.

yes it is. Fast them until they look skinnier and then feed them two pellets twice a day and no more.

As said above fasting once a week isn't a bad idea either. I think most people on here have a fasting day lol.

Sounds like a plan. Fasting is ok with a baby betta too? I got him? the same day as my bloaty males. Petco lures you in with the "cuteness" factor of the babies, and doesn't tell you they have more needs besides the micro pellets.

baby bettas require a ton more work. tons of water changes, frozen foods preferred but small pellets are ok, silk plants and the more room the better.
