Anesthetize? Clove oil its routinely used to humanly euthanize fish but it first puts them to sleep.

You mean how do you anesthetize a fish? Clove oil, but thats also a way to euthanize, so read carefully and do not overdose. Creat is correct- salt, tannins, and lots of clean water should stop it, but if not, you will know very soon, so keep a close eye on it. :) I have read that Melafix is great for most fish, but is an oil and as such can plug up a fish's labyrinth organ, and I have actually had two go downhill within hours of being put in with it (they were sick, but it looked like it wasn't doing them any favors at all).

Dont panic- they were very very very sick to begin with, and I have used it on every single other fish I have, including my fry! (I found out yesterday it was bad, myself!) So probably, he will be okay, I would just leave it out from now on. :)

What ever meds you have decided to use stick with it, its better to keep the same one even if its not the best then bounce back and forth between meds.

ill keep using the Melafix, if it only kills ones that were pretty sick any way, id rather him die, than be in pain and be a gymp.
