Is my betta having siesures??? Help!

My beta is approx. 2 1/2 yrs old. For the past couple of days he has been swimming out of control at the top of the tank in circles and then drop to the bottom... he would repeat this every hr or so. Then today when I was about to change his tank, he was floating horizontically gasping for actual air!!! he's been doing this for over 30 min. now!!! what is he trying to tell me. He lives in a small size tank with tiny rocks and marbles, i keep his water around room temp and I change his tank once a week, am I doing something wrong??[/img]

I am not sure, but 2.5 is serious age for bettas, isn't it?

Yes but it could be more than that. We do not know the actual age of a fish unless it was obtained from a local breeder or sufficient details were given to know the actual age.

Yolanda, where did you buy the fish? How did you come up with the actual age? What are the water parameters? Tank maintenance schedule? Foods being provided? Size of tank?
