How fat is too fat for a betta?

this is how fat i am keeping my betta baby, in the past i think i kept betta's kind of slender/streamlined and it has always worked out for me. but comparing to some of the other photo's, my past bettas were really skinny! my betta baby is always looking for food 24/7 around all the plants, but i think the baby is already fat! what do you guys think? does the baby need to be fatter? how fat is your betta?

I like "chuncky" looking bettas and keep mine that way.
Looks like a female on this pic.
If you had bloating or SBD problems then you would need to worry about feeding him less.
Besides, babies need lots of food to grow!

That looks like a female to me. And in that case the "fat" will remain as it is eggs...

For baby bettas I prefer them being more "full" than adults. They tend to eat more to grow :)

I feed my little one a lot because he always seems SO hungry, but I couldn't tell if he actually needs the extra food he begs for or he's just being a piggy. He hasn't bloated terribly yet, but holy moley he eats a lot. He's a baby so he's always on the fast move and probably working an appetite plus he's growing a lot and maturing...that's my theory on why he's always hungry...

Bettas are hungry by nature. They go by a "if I do not see food for another week or three, I will eat everything that I see!" do NOT overfeed bettas.

I do get a kick of hearing about "fat" bettas. They cannot be fat... Thicker bodied, eggy, full, well fed or overfed. But not fat.

I don't overfed the little guy, it's just hard to judge how much to give him at times, but I keep it under control. My boyfriend though...he's fallen for the begging and Lychee almost had an incident with a FEAST but he did fine the next day.
If a betta's stomach is the size of their eye...then would you fed a thick betta more so or would you fed it the regular amount you would give other bettas? (Not a personal betta question just a thought that came to my head.)
