Exclamation "Instant" Brine shrimp?

So, I want to start culturing pretty much everything under the sun before I start conditioning a pair to breed. I have some insuforia going, Micro, banana, vinegar eels, and walter worms are on their way. I'd like to add BBS to the mix, and how tempting is this "Instant" brine shrimp! Pricey, but time is money. Has anyone tried this with betta? - Google tells me nothing. I've heard rave reviews with other fish and would love to use them, but can't find a thing about betta fry and them, I'd never want to do a thing that could be harmful.

"Guaranteed Analysis: Proteins (max) 7.0% Fat (max) 0.7% Ash (min) 1.7% Fiber (min) 0.7% Carbohydrates 4.0%"

They're "100%" newly hatched brine shrimp, but it just seems... TOO easy... You know the sayin', if it's too good to be true and such... Any thoughts?

I prefer bbs and decaps. I think the instant say to use within a short period of time after opening? The idea of them is pretty great but I haven't tried cause I have enough bbs for a while.

I have not used it. But I am about the breed 3 pairs. I will use similar to that. When fries will begin to eat MW, I will put very small amount of decap BBS (very tiny amount to introduce the fries). I just don't want to hatch bbs every day. If it works I will just use instant bbs and MW from now on.

If it is not working out, I will go back to MW and live BBS.

You still up Vil? I am still up waiting for my bid to close on Aquabid :). It looks like I may win 3 of them.

Yes I'm still up

The product in the link is the same as decaps... should've looked first.
I was thinking about decapsulated hatchable eggs.
I use decaps... my fry love them!

I used the instant BBS when I spawned my bettas. I expected it to work, but it didn't. The fry didn't even go for it. This probably was because it isn't live. I think it is just preserved brine shrimp. Whatever it is, they aren't very appealing to the fry. I definitely would advise you to stick with the live foods you're culturing. Good luck!

Switching fry to dry foods should be done gradually or the fry will not eat it.
What I do so they accept decaps is I feed it with bbs and turn on the light at the top of the tank during feeding so the decaps are mixes wiht the bbs, they will eventually nip at it.
On each feeding I reduce the amount of bbs and increase decaps until it's all decaps.

Wow thanks SOOO much yall!

I'll definitely stick with the ones I'm planning, you saved me quite a bundle!
(I'm a bit terrified to use the micros though, the missing ventrals thing scares me to death. I'll prob just keep it going and sell starters of them and use the others! )

Cool

I guess I am just old fashioned. I just hatch my own. Or perhaps I am just cheap? Why pay top dollar for something that is so easy to do???
