Hey all, sorry about the delay of updates on this line of mine. After a ton of research on Joep's spawns and genetics study, I've decided that instead of trying to "improve" the so-so stock I got imported, I'm going to start the line from scratch.
So, the main features I want to see in these fish are-
*Metallic based coloration
*Clean turquoise color
*No red wash or bad scaling
*Good form
*Black-based fins / edging
These traits are what I will use to base selling, breeding, and culling on.
The line should look close to these guys once completed-

So, how do I create a metallic green/blue fish?
Copper x Steel / Royal / Turquoise.
This will give me the +nm alleles I need.
Here's an example of what the results will be from one of Joep's spawns-
Father (royal blue, non metallic)-

Mother (copper)-

This is a really great starting point, from there I can work on spreading a little more iridescence into the branching, or darkening the base color by crossing to recessive black.
I'm currently trying my hardest to get my hands onto these fish-
I'm still looking for the close-to-perfect turquoise, steel or royal female. Keep an eye out for me.
