Hello everyone.
I have been gone for a while but have finally found time to log on. xD. I used to regularly rescue bettas and re home them but have now slowed down, as my daughter's health has declined as of late.
It seems to run in the family but my twin has had some serious health issues and is bound to a wheel chair and hardly gets out, she asked me to find her a pet that would suit her. So of course I went and found a gorgeous betta for her. The betta will be with me for some time until he has healed. He had some serious fin rot.
Now I know he is a double tail, that is fairly obvious, but I was wondering about specifics on type and color variant.
He has a serious dorsal fin and anal fin, although you could hardly tell when I got him. ?He looks as though he may be a butterfly, tricolor maybe?
He is on the mend, so please don't mind his healing tank. He will have a nice filtered and heated 5 gallon soon, fully planted.
The water is also tinted from tannin from the IAL which is working wonders for him.
Here are a few pictures of him after about 5 days of being treated. ( his lower tail fin was nearly non existent but had to try to save him because I had never seen a double tail here before.
Its always so hard to type a betta thats yours, at least for me. I'd love opinions on him, he hasn't really flared yet due to nearly being dead a couple of days ago. He is partially flaring though and I find that encouraging.
Any name suggestions?
