I knew someone finished this idea. I found it very convenient how the CD cases fit so well on top. Just didn't have time to come up with a creative way to construct a lid.

Your idea solves that problem.

• So these 2.5gallon tanks don't usually come with a lid included?

I have 4 of these 2.5 gallons & 2 lids. 1 lid has a Marineland handle, other is just a piece of glass with no handle.

Thank you! Yeah, I couldn't believe they fit so well! It took a few minutes once I realized that two only covered part of the the top, but the third on top with the hole did the trick! No, my 2.5 glass tank was just a tank, no extras with it. I like how it lets in enough air, and I haven't tried yet, but I'm thinking I may be able to feed through the holes on top. I like the small space that at the moment is facing front, if turned around it may be big enough for tubing when I get her filter.
