Lightbulb Light in the room

Soo my fish lives in my room which is in the basement (he has a heater n everything dont worry) soo I have a light to simulate night and day I turn off his light at night but I am a college student so I am up at all hours of the night the lamp is a good distance away but could this still affect him?

I try to emulate night/day as much as I can with my bettas, however I am a night owl also. I love to read before I fall asleep. I don't think it will bother them. My bed lamp is away from the tanks too.

If you're worried about disturbing his sleep, you can always put a towel over his tank at night while you're still awake :)

I sleep with the tv on and my betta still sleeps at night so it should be fine. If you want you can check and see if he's sleeping at night

I'm a night owl, too. Since all of my tanks are in my room, I've set the timers on the tank lights to go off around 9p. I turn on the overhead light until about 11p, and then right before I go to bed I turn on my bedside lamp for a bit. So it's kinda like a slow progression towards darkness instead of the sudden turning off of all lights.
