its really rare for a female to make a bubble nest, but i have heard an incident or two of it happening. a picture would help in figuring out what gender it is.

Being in the cup for who knows how long, might of made him no be able to grow with the ammonia and the hormones, so he may never be very big. It is hard to tell because of this.

Honestly I am not sure I ever came across anything talking about the earliest bettas blow bubblenests. Good question though!

I seem to remember seeing your 3-4 months mentioned as a time some breeders choose to breed them though. I just don't know if making a bubblenest is part of the "coming of age" so to speak.

The babies that I raised since November/December never grew to be very big & they always had clean water, good food, good tank sizes, etc. Wonder if how it was in the beginning for them did the damage?

All good questions. Only one of mine did a bubblenest.

he is defnatly a male I've seen his beard and he has really long fins he has like doubled in size since I've gotten him he is either a veiltail or delta because his fins don't really droop I think I read they sexually mature at 3 months just didn't know if anyone else heard that thanks for the responses
