5.5 Tank

So I realized that since I don't have Pudge yet, I can't be 100% sure the divided tank will work out. There will be about 1-2 inches of space between them (there will be a filter and heater between the dividers), but there is still a chance of one or both of the fish getting stressed from having a tank mate.

Now, I'm not saying this will happen. There is only a 10-20% chance of me attempting this, but what fish could go in a 5.5 gallon with ONE betta?

I'd be leaving the nicer one in there if there is any hostility between the bettas, but I'm just curious if things go sour.

Nothing really, sorry. :( Only shrimp and snails. He'll hardly notice that, though.

Most fish are not solitary fish and need schools, which a proper school, being around like 8 minimum in my books, a 5.5 gallon won't do especially with a territorial fish. Then most solitary fish tend to be semi aggressive as they gotta be able to hold their ground so... not any fish with him.

Shrimp can work as long as there are lots of hiding places and I mean lots. Or snails work quite good. Nerite are probably the best as they can't supposedly have babies in freshwater, they need brackish to breed. They dont stick out very much from their shells so a betta would have a hard time injuring them.

I'm hoping that come Christmas, I can get a 10 gallon for some cories. Maybe a sorority to join them....

I had to confirm the fact that a 5.5 is too small for other fish :3 thanks!
