girl got beat up.

my female VT Lucy got into a little squabble with one of her fellow sorority members because she is a little beat up. there are chunks missing from her tail and now shes clamped and very lethargic. she sticks to the bottom away from all the other girls. i want to take her out but the only thing i have to put her in is my 1/2 gal hospital bowl that doesnt have a heater or anything. and i dont start working till Wednesday so i dont have any money to buy one. should i leave her in the 10 gal sorority tank where she has nice warm temperature controlled water, or take her out to prevent any more injury?

How long have you had the sorority? I have had mine for a few months and they still get into squabbles where they get their fins ripped. Heck, all if them are missing chunks on their tails and anal fin

about 2 months, and my girls get along pretty well together, other than the occasional nip around feeding time. but ive had ripped and nipped fins before, but none of my girls have ever seemed this pitiful.

Maybe float her in A cup in the tank until you get a heater?

float her in her cup so she can get rest just change the water everyday no matter which you decide to do .Use tape but make sure the tape doesn't touch the water. I use electrical tape because it comes off the glass easier.

I would leave her in, just make sure you have plenty of hiding spots in that tank, my I've kept a large sorority for years now and they still get into fights and squabbles often, she may have stepped out of line and someone had to show her who was in charge, its normal when you keep a sorority, as long as she isn't bleeding or seriously injured she should be fine

i have an old breeding box, much like this one:

http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...lmdn=Fish+Care

but the problem is i also have my 6 baby mollies in a separate breeding net box that takes up a lot of room and the last time i separated a fish in that box in the tank i think it stressed her out and she died. so im just trying to avoid that this time.

Post a picture of her if you can. Mine fought, but none of them ever started to hide, clamp their fins or act lethargic.

They would dash around, but that's about it. I have some of them in breeding box as well. Mine don't seem to care.

Going to reintroduce the little ones after I finish watching my show.
