Your very welcome maybe your mom would read this and see that feeding your lovely Betta to much can make him sick please ask her too. That you have joined the Betta Forum shows how much you want the proper care for Patriot . Maybe your mom would like to join too and start reading all the wonderful information here and see all the beautiful pictures people post. It might help to make a little sign to put next to Patriot that says Please Do Not Feed and Over Feeding Makes Him Sick ! Best of wishes to you and Patriot !

You're welcome, I hope we've helped you. If all else fails, hide your betta's food so she can't feed him. It's important, and he's depending on you not to overfeed him. :)

I agree with perseusmom, maybe have your mother read some of the posts here! Knowledge is power; if she understands how her actions will effect your betta's health, she might be a bit more cautious.

Hope your little guy is feeling better soon! :)

Aw, moms have that reflex !

My mom used to be upset that I fasted the fish once a week.

I explained to her that they can go almost a month with out eating, but she didn't believe me until my uncle and aunt accidentally left ehir fish alone in the house while they were overseas and the fish was still fine when they returned.

Hope he feels better soon.

Some people use a de-shelled, cooked, frozen pea for constipated bettas.

nippyfish.net has an article about it.

IMO he doesn't look bloated. Lebron got bloated once. I just didn't feed him for a day and he got better! :) A laxative you could use is frozen daphnia.
