Found a bunch of fry popping around this morning!!!

Hi Guy's,

Well my first batch of fry hatched sometime last night, I found them when I inspected this morning

Can anyone recommend a good thread or site where I can get detailed instructions on how to raise them.

How long now before they are free swimming? when do I give them their first meal? I ordered a microworm culture but won't get it for few days but I'm already set up for BBS.

When and how do I do water changes? And I'm sure a 1000 more questions!! I read just about everything I could find but is there a simple step by step explanation all in one place??

If your just barely order the mw don't bother using them
Since it will take 2-5 days to get there
Another week to culture
By then it will be kind of useless
Bbs
Only the strong will make it from the start
Main food u need is infusoria

There has been live plants in the tank without the filter running for about two weeks. Do you think there will be any infusoria

Yes, there should be plenty of infusoria. Infusoria only takes a few days to start developing.

Usually after day 5 of free swimming IMO.

Will the fry eat only the infusoria for the 5 days before I feed the BBS??

For about the first few days, they still have nutrition from an egg sac. After that they will eat any infusoria available. As soon as they are big enough to eat BBS they will. Anything that will fit in their tiny mouths they will eat.
