Help with setting up divided 10gal tank

Hello bettafish.com community.
I am new to the forum & I am very interested in purchasing my first pair of Betta fish. I purchased one for my ex a few years back so I know some what on how to care for them. I was actually looking to get some tips on setting up a divided 10 gal tank for 2 Bettas on making a divider & picking out the best filter system that will not stress out the fish. I am also looking for suggestions on what kind of live plants would be okay to add in the tank to give it a more realalistic feel to it. Please help!! I greatly appreciate it.

i followed these instructions http://www.tropicalfishkeeping.com/d...ividers-21866/ but i have the mesh higher so it sits just under the light to make sure there is no jumping. and i have an aquarclear filter running and a heater. one side has the filter the other the heater but they are both right where the divider is for good circulation

Thank you for the link and the info!! It is much appreciated. I have another question. What's the best filter for a 10 gal or even a 20 gal long tank that is a low flow filter?
