Adding an acid and heating would theoretically convert it to a free-floating fatty acid, which you can easily remove. However, the acid concentration you'd need is unknown and you'll probably end up spending a lot of time washing the log back to neutral pH. I'd probably just stick with soaking and boiling in water.

If you try the acid, vinegar is probably the only viable choice. I'd avoid hydrogen peroxide since it functions more as an oxidizing agent than an acid, and decomposes under heating anyway.

So what's going on with the wood?

Recently I have drenched the wood in hot water and when i placed it in a bucket of water with water movement there seemed to be some soap but it disappeared

Let it soak in water. Rinsing only removes it from the surface. If any of the soap is inside, soaking will sort of get it out.

If you can leave the bucket/container of water outside in the sun as well.

I would leave it out there for at least a week or two. But that's if you have that option.

ok thanks everyone for the avice! i think i will soak it and see what happens than use super hot water if its not coming out
