Looking for filter advice

I am considering setting up a "sorority" tank. I have a 15 gallon glass tank that measures 24 1/4 x 12 1/2 x 12 3/4. What would be a good filter to use?

The Aquaclear filters are nice as they have adjustable flow. I use to have that filter but I am now using a canister for water flow. The Fluval C2 is also a good filter and has an adjustable flow.

Get a filter that doesn't rely on chemical filtration like carbon. Mechanical and biological like sponges or porous rock. That way there is never a need a need to replace media.
