Live Bloodworms?

So I got live bloodworms as a once a week treat for my bettas & for BB since he's only 4-5 weeks old. I have a couple questions. I've had people tell me to feed BB frozen brine shrimp, but a guy at my LFS (the one that takes great care of their fish & bettas are in tanks, not cups) suggested live bloodworms which is why partly why I decided to get them. It's ok to feed BB them right?

EDIT: I also have Hikari First Bites for BB too.

Also, my 2 girls, who are only about 3-4 months old were freaked out by bloodworms. They kept coming up to investigate, but as soon as the worms moved they darted off again. I'm squimish so I had a grasped a worm with tweezers & within about 30 seconds they got off the tweezer started sinking to the bottom & crawled into the gravel. It's a divided 10 gal & I'm buying a gravel vacuum tomorrow. Is it ok the 2 worms are in there or do I need to do something immediately? PetCo is open another 1hr 20min, so if I really needed to run down I could.

Be very careful with live bloodworms. Go to Betta Care, and then click the "Warning about live bloodworms" thing.

Just wash them and they should be fine. BB is great, too. Just give it both for some variety. You should take out ANY food that's in the tank that the Betta won't eat.

BTW, it's actually BLACKWORMS so don't worry about the post above. :)

Yeah, I know they were Blackworms, just posted it because it said the could be confused.

Awesome thanks! BB won't eat anything except for bloodworms right now, so this makes me feel much better. I do rinse them & let most of the excess water drain to get rid of the waste. The other fish will get it as a once of week treat then since they love them. I swear there's color improvement since they had them & I feed them Omega One so they're already very healthy & bright! I am very careful about about taking out any excess food, although it's rare because I am very careful about how much & when I feed them. Thanks again for setting my mind at ease. Also, if you want to see my guys I updated my albums. I love to brag about my fish. :)
