NPT Guides? Beginners How To?

So even if I don't post everyday, I'm always on here reading and getting more information so I can learn how to improve Kudo's life and in turn the other 4 bettas we have here! Recently Ive started seeing a lot of posts about NPT and I just love the way they look and Ive read that they are more beneficial for the snails and fish. Can anyone direct me to a beginners how to or a guide on how to create one? Id like to read a lot more about it and save up some money so I can get started on it. I've got the 10 gallon that Kudo is in right now that Id like to change to NPT, if thats possible.

yes! Im in kitchener so not far either :)
the planted tank is my new favourite forum, but i spend hours looking on there.... just avoid aquascaping posts because I just discovered a new time consuming hobby I want to get into lol

OFL is also a great help when it comes to NPTs. She has several that are just amazing.

Also, you may get a lot out reading OldFishLady's posts here regarding NPT - all her tanks are dirt tanks and she's pretty knowledgeable on the topic.

I made my 10 gallon an npt pretty easily. They come with their own challenges and pitfalls of course, but I am really enjoying watching the plants explode with growth now it's settling down and my plakat is just in glowing health.

You will need some algae control animals, however. I use shrimp - they make great betta snacks, also.

Anyways, yes try searching the posts on here! I have found some AMAZING information. I have a 3 gallon, planted tank and used small gravel as my substrate. I really want to try soil next! Lighting is SUPER important, I didn't have enough and 1 of my plants died

Aus has some pretty spectacular tanks, especially the one for her "new" wild bettas (sorry, forget the species).
