going to get a 2.5 tank and a betta...

i need to know what other fish would be good to put along with him... can a male and female get along? or can two female's get along? I'm talking about two Betta's. i know two male Betta's won't get along with one another. thank you!

Never put a male and a female betta together. If the female is not ready to mate, the male will destroy her. If he is particularly territorial, he will destroy her. Most scenarios end like this. The only safe time to put a male and female together is when breeding but you do not want this because then you would have 200 babies.

That size of a tank is very small. I would not put a companion in with a betta in that size of a tank.

If you want to get more than one betta I would suggest you look into a 10 gallon tank or larger. A 2.5 gallon tank is only good for 1 betta.

I agree with the others, a 2.5g tank is not appropriate for more than one Betta. If you decided to go bigger & wanted more than just a Betta you would have to know your Bettas personality. Some Bettas will be fine with tank mates & others won't. IMO you need a minimum of a 10g tank for multiple fish.
