Hope for bettas with fin rot!

For all the betta owners in distress over fin rot -- Here is a true success story.
4 months ago when I got this guy he developed bleeding fins! I mean really bad fin rot!
But after water changes and treatment with Betafix (yeah i know many hate this stuff) Here he is today. His fins are so long that they fall over!!.

How much BettaFix did you use on the little guy? I'm going through a quick bout of fin rot, as well, so I'm curious to know how much you used to grow his fins back.

He's absolutely gorgeous!! And his color.... <3

I just followed the bottle directions until he quit bleeding and appeared to be getting better. His fins started growing and have never stopped. He lives in a 2.5 gal minibow with 25% water change once a week and 100% every other week. And i think he's just gorg!

Everyone says that it blocks up their labyrinth organ, which helps them breathe, but I don't see why they would get hurt if you monitor and ensure that the fish is still healthy the whole time. I added an eighth of a teaspoon to my Betta's water tonight to help with fin growth.

i use quick cure wich does the same thing, but if it helps them in the long run, i think their labrynth may eventually un-clog, and until then, just keep your water nice and 'airy' ..... i may switch to betta fix.... if it helps that great....

No, I was so sure he would not survive that i did not take any. Now I do wish I had before and after; but the shocking thing was the caudal fin was actually bleeding! at the end. I do think the water changes helped; but the betafix was also added daily. Good luck with yours.

He looks fabulous!

Congratulations!

I used bettafix when my Prana had a rip in her tail from a plastic plant.

Just one dose on one day and it healed up!

I think overdosing would be bad, but short term seems to be fine.
