My Newest Bettas!

While waiting for my mother to get her shampoo at Meijer, my sister and I went back to the pet department. There were some pretty male bettas back there, but none that really caught my eye. We walked over to see the other fish and there was a female betta tank. There was a really oddly colored one... And a tattered up one that my sister fell in love with. Fast forward 5 hours, we returned and got the fish. We're in Indiana, 2 hours away from our home. The bettas are happily in 2 lemonaide containers that we repeatedly rinsed out. I'll post pictures in just a second!

The darker one doesn't have a name yet, but the lighter colored one is named Meemo (littlest cousin named her).

Just one second... Have to switch to iPod to get pictures on here!

Meemo's color will change tomorrow once she settles down.

Curious to see what her true color is.

The dark colored bettas are harder to photograph.

Can't wait to see some photos of them in the sunlight.

Once they settle in they'll look really good. I hope you're not planning on keeping them in those containers. If you want them to live long healthy lives they should be in bigger containers, each should have at least a 5g aquarium. Bettas like environments that are longer rather than taller, they need to have room to really stretch their fins. I commend you for saving them but please get them into better homes, bigger with plants & hidey holes. Does your mom possibly have large bowls you could use? Just something to think about if you want them to live longer.

Thanks! I'm really loving the colors that they're starting to show. These are just temporary containers for the way home. They're both a little more than 1/2 gallon each! I'm not that mean. They both have nice homes to go to when I get home. Just a few more hours then we'll all be home

Ok, they're really not liking the camera right now. I'm hoping tomorrow that they will.

Here are some pictures:

I hope to get some better pictures later tonight or tomorrow. It really depends on how they want to get pictured.
