Breeding Help

So ive decided to start breeding, because my friend has been breeding her fish and i now i want to try. I have done a lot of research, and started collecting the items. So far i have the tanks, a heater, and decorations for the fish to hide in. (I know it isnt a lot of stuff, i just started) So if you have any suggestions on what you use to breed it would help me out alot. I know some stuff from websites but it always helps to have opions from people who have done it before. Thanks for reading and please help!

i will be purchasing one from junglist, so they will be good haha. They are HMPKs :) and yes i have read the stickies, i just wanted some other opinions :D

Just *some of* the supplies needed

3 heaters. 2 for the seperate male and female's tank after breeding and one that is big enough for the spawn and growout tank

50-80+ jars. It depends on how many fish you need to jar and the size of the spawn

A way to heat ever single jar

Live foods for he fry, BBS, and daphnia or another larger food are a must IMO. I also like to supplement mine with Microworms, banana worms, and vinegar eels

A 20 gallon minimum growout

3 thermometers 1 for the growout/spawn tank and 2 for the individual pair's tank

A backup pair or male/female. Spawning doesn't always go right.

A quality pair

Siphon, python or airline tubing to do water changes

A 5 gallon bucket. Isn't a need but makes everything easier

Lots and lots of time

Pk not my thing but I appriciate good ones ... I guess the most important thing is to have a goal. I never like with super nice fish because I like the challenge of perfecting it myself as it teaches you what to look for. Also trust your gut on spawning like sometimes even if a pair wont fight you can sense it comming... just my thoughts

My HMPK female loves the java moss I have in my spawn tank. This is where she rests during the courtship process though I have other places for her.
I have a good size floating anubias plant in there my yellow dragon HMPK male loves to use as an anchor for his nest.

Others have already given some good advice.

Several kinds of fry food and live plants. Musts, in my opinion. The variety of food is good for your fry.
Multiple heaters.
You can also use big plastic tubs to help with being grow out tanks.
