New tank set up cloudy

So I set up my new/used 10 gal tank on Friday, heater, filter and put the washed gravel in and when we got up yesterday the water was all cloudy. What should we do? We aren't getting any fish for the tank until Tuesday so it is fish free right now.

100% water change. If it's still cloudy after refill, do another one. Etc, etc..

I washed the crud out of my new sand until I thought there could not be a speck of it left - and the tank, all 30 gallons or so, had zero visibility. It was like a mud bucket. Water change (lotta water..) x 3 had it clear finally.

Giant PITA but some sands/gravels just have a lot of detritus.

This is how I wash substrate. grab a bucket and blast thw cotents with a hose, create a whirlpool.
Turn off hose and slowly tilt bucket over an let the water run off. anything that doesnt immediately settle will be washed out... ofcourse.. this is strictly an out doors activity. lol

LOL Aokashi, that's -exactly- what I did -- and in the Melbourne winter, it is not a fun exercise I can tell you! But still the sand had tons of dust in it.. I don't think I'll be buying that kind again.

Ok so now it is looking like it is not cloudy water but the 2 end sides glass of the tank.

need a little more info.do u have a filter?if its cloudy give it a few days with the filter on.it will clear up.is the tank being cycled?

fill out this form..it can help..anything asking about the fish.ignore it since u dont have any in there.and reading what u poted again u do have a filter.but is it turned on?r u using new media or media(filter cartridge) that was used also?

Does your fish have any history of being ill?
How old is your fish (approximately)?

I can imagine how un-fun that'd be for you :(

@ prod - I think it's just a new tank gravel issue or something. Not sure if it could be bacterial so quickly, especially since there are no fish in there to produce nutirents.
