After much searching, I have finally managed to get myself a gravel vacuum for my 2.5 gallon (up til now, I've been doing water changes with a cup >.<). My question is a silly one, but it's something I do need to know... I prepared the new water with the conditioner early this morning and it's been sitting in the bucket for quite a while now (I held off doing the water change because I was hopeful I could find the gravel vacuum today). Of course, that means my bucket is now... tied up with the fresh aquarium water. So... what should I siphon my old tank water into? I don't have another pristine bucket (our other buckets are used for things like car washes and chemical cleaning solutions and such), but I was sort of thinking since the water is coming OUT of the tank, that wouldn't matter, right? Or is that something I shouldn't do?
This is by no means urgent, although I'd appreciate a reply as soon as possible.
If all else fails, I guess I could dump out my new, conditioned water, use that bucket, then rinse it out and refill and recondition. I'd rather avoid wasting my 2.5 gallons of fresh water, though.
