Question on DT's

Why are DT's so short? They look short and pudgy

Well the DT trait is basically the upper half of the body copying the lower half (hence the wide dorsal similar to the anal fin). Shortness can really just be perception but they are pudgy and prone to swimming issues.

They're one of my favorite types of bettas :)

From their heavy finnage. The gene makes their body shorter from all the finnage this fish type has. They're also known to have hunched backs.
