Anyone know what this insect is??

Omyword...this was crawling up my curtains..can anyone identify it? I live in the South if that helps. EWWW

It is really creepy looking..and looks like it has a stinger! I'm freakin' lol!

It looks to me like a black metallic tiger beetle, of the genus Cicindela. They are common throughout regions with sandy or clay soil and found near bodies of water, like lakes, streams, rivers, or the ocean.

Thanks so much! Yeah, I live on the coast, and my yard is mostly sand. I don't mind most crawly things, but he really gave me the jitters lol!

It would freak me out, too. We get a lot of centipedes around here and they are NASTY looking.
